I can't do this anymore.

Image
This was the exact same words I had when she walked up to me and poured out her heart to me. Mrs. Nwosu has been one of my closest friends in church and since her husband was also a friend to my husband. It made the bond of friendship even stronger. Anyone who saw her would have thought she is having the best times in her relationship. Although they were still trying for a child that never weighed down her bubbling self. She was always happy and also made everyone around her happy too. After Church service on Sunday, she came straight to where I sat and told me she wasn't comfortable with it anymore. My curious self asked her what it was and she told me it wasn't something we would discuss in the open. I quickly grabbed my clutch and dashed off with her. We arrived at the mall and went straight to an eatery. To my greatest surprise, she burst out in tears and hugged me closely saying Sis I can't do this anymore. I am losing my mind. I tried pacifying her and she to...

A little sleep, A little slumber

Image
Proverb 23:33 & 34, A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. I got inspired to do this writeup this morning after a brief meditation and this was the first thing that came to mind. How have you all been? There have been too many bloodsheds in Nigeria of late. From the Presidential and governorship election to the Anambra Incident and the collapsed building in Lagos. May God Console every one who was involved in one way or the other. We all know there is usually a trend of word, attitude or dance moves in Nigeria. But 'JI MASUN' and ' GBE BODY E' crack me up all the time and for the literal meaning too. JI MASUN to my understanding literally means 'WAKE UP, DON'T SLEEP' while the other means 'CARRY YOUR BODY'. Inasmuch as they both crack me up, I deduced something from both which was linked up to  A little sleep a little slumber. ...

International Women's Day

Image
It is that time of the year again. It is the International Women's day. This is celebrated every year on 8th March.  This year the theme is ' Think equal, build smart, innovate for change' International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities. The 2019 theme  Think equal, build smart, innovate for change  focuses on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure. The achievement of the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ) requires transformative shifts, integrated approaches and new solutions, particularly when it comes to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

The Nigeria I dream of

Image
A country were you can ply the road freely without having to give bribes.  A country were elections are free and fair.  A country were one is given admission based on merit not propaganda.  A country were people give assistance without expecting anything in return.  A country were the young are given a chance to be rulers and not the other way around.  A country were roads are well constructed and there is constant power supply.  A country were all life matters and education is of utmost priority. A country were the youths are able to think and thrive becoming leaders and  Inventors.  A country were our leaders are selfless and willing to go the extra mile for the nation. It is never too late to create the environment we want. Though it's been postponed, no one can stop us from creating the Nigeria we want. Vote wisely!

What do you Really Want?

Image
It's 2019 folks, if you are reading this you are here, you are present, I've only got one question to ask. Have you decided on what you want in 2019? Ask yourself what exactly you want from 2019 and beyond. You owe it to yourself to answer what I call life's biggest question. Figure out what you want, set goals and put in the work everyday to achieve that which you truly want. No journey could be more satisfying than the journey of giving yourself what you truly want. This is where you find joy in process, this is where you sleep late and get up early with a smile on your face ready to do today's work, this is where nobody approves but you do it anyways. The shortest possible distance is the distance between two points. Point one is what you really want, that is your goal and point two is the achievement. When you can be that specific with your true goal in life. Life becomes much fuller and meaningful because you will find joy in process when working towar...

Are You Positioned Rightly?

Image
It's Exactly 40 days to Christmas and about 46 days to a New Year. Where you are right now is a result of all the decisions you have made till today. you have more than enough time to re-position yourself for success. photo credit:  www.hmeeketing.xyz Re-access, Rethink and Recreate...you shouldn't live life on the sidelines. If at this point you wake up in the morning and don't feel good abut yourself if you have to pretend to be happy or having a good time or keep putting up fake smiles Reassess, that's not the right place If you keep waiting for the day to end. waiting for "Phcn" to restore the light or for you favorite TV show to come on then you are not rightly engaged Re-access, that's not the right place If you keep ruminating on thoughts that are not in your circle of influence or running around in the same old vicious circle. or maybe its buyers remorse you are stuck with, probably recycling the same old gut feeling Re-a...

Yes, I know it's been a while. Let me officially say a Happy New month to you all. For some reason, I think the year is coming to an end real fast and the festive season is almost here. This Xmas season will be so special, I can feel it already. I will try my best to blog more frequently especially during the festive period. So many things make Christmas special to me but I will be sharing a few with you. Christmas is usually celebrated on the 25th of December yearly.  These are a few of all the things that makes Christmas special: The harmattan Season: There is this feeling when it's the harmattan season... It makes me know christmas is here. The fact that everywhere is dry and cold during this period makes it so special. Fireworks: Although I am so frightened by fireworks, the sound and everything about it makes it scary, but I still love that sound in a way because it reminds me of Christmas eve. Decorations: You just know it's Christmas by the...
