Excerpts from The life series with Ibukun Awosika plenary session 1

I have always admired this Mrs. A from afar and she has been such an inspiration to me. Being part of the life series with Ibukun Awosika is definitely one of my highlights of 2019.

It was knowledge-filled and there were so many amazing speakers present. Although the event was divided into the various sessions, we had the Entrepreneur talk first which was moderated by Mrs. Ibukun Awosika and a panel consisting of Mrs. Zaccheus Yewande, Dr. Johnson Omobola, and Mrs. Bola Adesola.

Everyone had their moment of discussion. There was so much impact and I was so overwhelmed I made it to the Life series.

Some extracts from Mrs. Yewande's "stepping out from the golden handcuff to pursue your dream" was being deliberate about living. She gave a brief story of how she resigned her job to pursue her dream and how she was able to build back after it seemed like she had lost all, she also stated that money shouldn't be the first reason why anyone wants to be an entrepreneur, It should be more about being a problem solver.

Some important keys to note when starting up a new business should be

  • Your courage of conviction
  • Your passion, this implies being driven
  • Visionary- you should be able to see ahead and think ahead.
  • Diligence- of course, hard work is key and gets you to were you want to be
  • Humility- humility is key, you must be humble and willing to learn.
  • Your qualification - you must be able to answer these questions in the affirmative
  • Do you have the capacity and Tenacity?
  • Do you have the spirit of Innovation?
  • Do you have faith in yourself?
  • Do you have faith in God?
If you tick yes to all of this then you are good to go.

The second Panelist Dr. Johnson Omobola spoke on Effectively using time. She subdivided it into Corporate and Personal.

She spoke about the distraction in the world today and how people get carried away on social media watching videos and scrolling through WhatsApp messages. That's a lot of time if you have asked me. One should be able to give an account of one's time. We have a sense of the daily cost of our time and how much time goes into what.

She also spoke about having time on our consciousness and putting a value on it. Investing in oneself cannot be overemphasized.  One should learn to say yes to things that apply and no to things that dont matter.

The third panelist was Mrs. Bola Adesola, who spoke on achieving one's goal despite hurdles.

In life, we are faced up with hurdles, what matters most is how we react to these hurdles. She also spoke about achieving one's goal despite hurdles with the following steps:
  • Accepting there is a challenge and not being in denial of ot.
  • Attempting to understand why
  • Reaching out to others. Instead of internalizing, it's important to externalize
  • Do a research
  • Preparation
  • Commitment to work, relationship with people.:- despite the challenges, it shouldn't interfere with how you relate with people or your commitment to work.
  • Grow better in the choices you make
  • Dont get diminish waiting, find other things to do.
  • Generosity and giving
  • Taking stock and reflecting
  • Finding purpose in the hurdle
I hope we find this useful and also input as it applies to us.  This was an awesome event. If you are thinking of adding value to yourself, then you should definitely be planning to attend the next Life series with Ibukun Awosika and I bet your life will take a leap.

The life series is on Instagram as TheLifeseriesng, you might want to follow them for more updates.

Watch out for plenary session 2.

My birthday Thanksgiving/ Thanksgiving Jar

Hello friends, It's been a moment. Today is the 21st of May 2021, how amazing! Yesterday was so special to me, not only because several years ago on the 20th of May my joyful parents received a perfect gift from God but because looking back all I can see is the mighty hands of God. I got very heartwarming messages and I am eternally grateful for it. With our busy schedule taking out time to drop a message for me means I matter, and I truly appreciate you all. The previous year had its challenges but there is nothing as joyful as winning a war. I pray God shows up for you all amid the storm. I can't do without talking about the goodness of the mighty God. He is the reason I celebrated and was celebrated. All the glory belongs to him. To my immediate family My husband, Children, Mother, brothers, and sisters, you are the best thing after Jesus and I love you always. To my friends you all are special. I am grateful to have celebrated yesterday with you all. Every day of our lives...

GOOD BYE TO 2024 : WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR 2025!

Greetings, Friends Since I haven't been here in a long time, I know that some of you must have moved on, even though I know that many of you would be speculating about my return. I'm apologizing publicly for being away for so long. To be honest, 2024 was a lot for me; I needed to do more reflection. Let us begin the new year with a heartfelt congrats. I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year. We can never get 2024 back, no matter how much we make or lose. It has only been added to a list of the years you have spent on this planet. It's only the second day of the year, but it's already a new year. Here's a little math exercise: We have 363 days remaining if we subtract two days from the 365-day year. This means that we have plenty of time to get our plans for the year off the ground. Watch this space because I will be sharing a lot with you this year. I pray that the new year brings us all good health, joy, peace, love, and unity and that we continue to be acc...

My Uk life Series - The Beginning (Planning)

Hi Friends, This has been long overdue but I think I am in a good place to begin this series. Travelling has never been something on my list. Even as kids, I would constantly say I loved it in my home country ‘Nigeria’ and wasn’t going anywhere. I never knew God had other plans. I recalled making enquiries about Canada’s Permanent Residency and how you had to take the IELTS as part of the requirement. All of a sudden, I was intrigued and tried it. I also made an effort to persuade my husband to do the same, but he shared my perspective and wasn't thrilled about the prospect of living abroad. In any case, we both completed the IELTS and got started on the procedure, but we gave it up since we had a more important assignment that needed our full focus.   In 2021, we decided to relocate to the United Kingdom. At first, it was difficult because I was only starting to adjust to a new state and environment after resigning my 9 to 5 job, and now I had to relocate once more. I wasn't...
